Your healing journey starts with a private consultation with one of our experienced facilitators. We will discuss your healing goals and your health information, and talk about how traditional Shipibo Master Plant Dieta may help you.
We will guide you on the best way to prepare physically, psychologically and emotionally for a safe, rewarding Ayahuasca Retreat. If you need it, we will share travel tips for planning your journey to Iquitos, Peru.
Sometimes a longer preparation is needed (for example to discontinue contraindicated medications or substances). We will support you through this process with regular check-ins and facilitate connection with other professional advisers where needed.

A warm welcome to the jungle
We will arrange for a trusted, independent motocar driver to collect you from Iquitos airport or from your hotel in Iquitos, Peru.
Your 25-45 minute drive through Iquitos will have you passing through busy town and residential areas until the Amazon jungle opens out all around you. The final 2km of sandy road leads you right to our beautiful entrance gates.
Our friendly local team will welcome you and show you to your room. We will let you know when to be ready for a brief orientation tour of the healing center.

Your treatment commences
On the first day of your Ayahuasca Retreat we will have an in-depth group introduction meeting in our beautiful Maloka ceremonial space. There will only be a maximum of 12 guests so there will be time for you to ask questions and share.
We will explain the center protocols and the program schedule and we will introduce you to the master Shipibo shamans. You will have the chance to share your intentions for your healing journey and talk about your prior plant medicine experience. This talk can happen in private if you prefer.
After a guidance talk about your first Ayahuasca Ceremony you’ll have the chance to rest before returning to the Maloka that evening. During the Ayahuasca Ceremony the shamans will sing a diagnostic healing song Icaro for you. The next day you’ll have a ceremony Integration talk with the Shipibo shamans. For those attending a 12-day Ayahuasca Retreat you will hear your recommended Master Plant Dieta treatment.

If you’ve opted for our 12-day Ayahuasca and Master Plant Dieta intensive, throughout the rest of your retreat you will drink your Plant Dieta infusion daily. If you’re staying for a short 5-day Ayahuasca and Intro to Master Plant Dieta you will receive various other gentle plant medicine therapies. These are aimed at cleansing your body, calming your nervous system and fostering your connection with the plants. Sinus flush, eye drops, flower baths, vomitivos and other treatments may be recommended according to your healing needs.
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights all guests can attend Ayahuasca Ceremony where our master Shipibo shamans will sing Icaro song treatments to heal you and strengthen the plant medicine energies in your body. Please note our restrictions about drinking Ayahuasca during menstruation.
Ayahuasca with Shipibo plant medicine healing can be intense. It’s not unusual to feel weak and to have many sensations and thoughts emerging. Each week-day we support you with group Integration talks and knowledge conferences. (You may request private consultations.) Otherwise rest and quiet alone-time is generally recommended for the best healing experience.

For the best results with traditional Shipibo healing it is ideal to stay alone in your tambo, meditating or resting.
However we understand that for some guests, coming to the Amazon is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and you want to explore the jungle. We can arrange for trusted 3rd party transport to bring you on a day-trip to one of our favorite places (e.g. Monkey Island, Allpahuayo-Mishana Nature Reserve, Pilpin Tuhuasi Butterfly Sanctuary, Manatee Rescue Center, etc)

Dieta Phase 1 - Initiation
The early days of Dieta treatment require good discipline and care of the Master Plant energies which are being set up in your body, mind, heart and spirit. We teach you about your Dieta Plant and how to care for it.
Dieta Phase 2 - Nurturing & Healing
Throughout your Ayahuasca Retreat healing journey our shamans sing to strengthen your connection with the plant/s. We give in-depth guidance as your process deepens, and teach you how Shipibo shamans grow their knowledge and skills over many years.
Dieta phase 3 - Closing & Integration
At the end of your Ayahuasca Retreat our master shamans sing to clean and align your energy. We teach you about the shamanic work involved in closing Master Plant Dieta, putting energetic protection, and the rich Integration process ahead. You may sign up for one of our support programs to continue your Dieta practice at-home.

We encourage quiet rest and self-reflection during this crucial time in your healing journey.
In the last couple of Ayahuasca Ceremonies of your retreat the shamans will sing Icaros to clear your energy and weave the vibrant plant medicine energies deeply into your body, mind, heart and spirit to stay with you when you return home.
As a Master Plant Dieta is “closed”, we say the energies are “born” into your world. For all guests, the shamans sing powerful protection Icaros. There begins your ongoing Integration journey of learning to live in harmony with the plant medicine energies within you.

Integration of plant medicine work needs special consideration as the plant energies can continue to grow (if you take care of them). This can feel quite intense and can go on for some time, potentially prompting big waves of change in your life.
We support you with a dedicated post-retreat group Integration Session with your facilitators. You then have access to our monthly Integration sessions, ongoing At-home Dieta Healing Support Programs or private consultations with knowledgeable facilitators and therapists (paid services). We also invite you to join our passionate Master Plant Dieta community chat groups.
Integration support for Ayahuasca & Dieta healing
Your Ayahuasca and/or Master Plant Dieta healing journey requires continued respect of dietary restrictions for a few days after your final Ayahuasca Ceremony or after your Dieta is closed.

How do I get to Iquitos in Peru?
Getting to Iquitos is surprisingly easy. It is a 2 hour flight from Lima. Sometimes its better to search for flights to Lima first, and then look for a separate Lima-Iquitos option. Let us know if you need help with your travel planning.
