Our Story
Caya Shobo was formed in 2016 by friends who had studied Ayahuasca shamanism for many years. In 2009, we learned of the Shipibo tradition and its remarkable knowledge for healing with Master Plants. We began practicing Master Plant Dieta with Shipibo maestros in different Peruvian healing centers, gradually learning the traditional ways over the years.
We eventually came to see a need for a new Shipibo healing center. A place dedicated to real healing and ancestral learning with the best shamans. But with western standards of care and grounded values of mutual respect and friendship.
Caya Shobo was born. Today the center is a beautiful sanctuary for true healing in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, Iquitos, Peru.
Our Story

We eventually came to see a need for a new Shipibo healing center. A place dedicated to real healing and ancestral learning with the best shamans. But with western standards of care and grounded values of mutual respect and friendship.
Caya Shobo was born. Today the center is a beautiful sanctuary for true healing in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, Iquitos, Peru.
Since 2016, Caya Shobo has helped over 1,000 guests heal with Shipibo Master Plant Dieta.
We are one of the few traditional Shipibo healing centers endorsed by the Shipibo Tribal Leadership Council.

The Caya Shobo healing center is designed to support intensive traditional Shipibo healing. It boasts an impressive ceremonial Maloka space, an open-space dining hall with chill-zone and wifi and other dedicated guest service facilities.
3 types of private lodgings are available, nestled in the forest or close to amenities, all surrounded by flowering plant medicines, attractive lagoons and a bright array of Amazonian wildlife.
Our wonderful on-site team takes care of you with delicious Dieta-friendly meals, cleaning, laundry and 24×7 security.
