Julie
Julie fell in love with the Shipibo plant medicine tradition in 2019. Since then she has dieted many Master Plants, which ultimately encouraged her to move from a corporate career to a path of healing and transformation. Julie has served as a retreat facilitator since 2023. She is particularly focused on the ways the divine works through the plants, and she loves helping others see and feel this divine love in their own experiences.
“I am forever amazed by how much joy, love and possibility have opened in my life with the Shipibo healing tradition. This path of transformation can be difficult at times, as we are called to really see our patterns, beliefs and addictions. One of the most profound teachings I have received is quite simple: wounds want to be heard. To move through all the defences and patterns that cover those wounds can be hard, but the plants give us so much love, care, hope and vibrance on that journey. I hope I can help others on this journey, as they discover this gift of holy pilgrimage through life.” Julie

Andy
Andy is a skilled Carpenter and Master Builder who has contributed greatly to some of the beautiful structures at Caya Shobo. Andy has been healing and learning through the Shipibo Dieta tradition since 2015 and has been holding space at Caya Shobo as a retreat facilitator since 2018.
This path for Andy has been at times a rocky road, fraught with pain and confrontation. Yet, he stands as an example of what is possible when one faces these challenging moments with courage and a determination to grow. We are grateful to have Andy as a dependable and resolute member of our retreat facilitation team.
“My introduction with the Shipibo medicine tradition radically altered the trajectory of my life. Finding greater depths of healing and personal growth will be a lifelong path that still demands an openness to evolving interpretation. What I can say, is the greatest gift I’ve received has been the shifting of my worldview to one that believes in, engages with, and cultivates reverence for real magic. My former life was clearly ailing from a lack of mystery, and I believe greater inner-peace awaits a life with more wonder.” – Andy

Shane
Shane is our most recent community member to become a retreat facilitator at Caya Shobo. He has been deeply committed to the path of Shipibo plant medicine healing since 2016.
His journey with Ayahuasca began during a time of profound uncertainty when he felt disconnected from himself and the natural world. Seeking clarity and a deeper sense of purpose, Shane was drawn to Ayahuasca healing, which guided him toward self-discovery and a renewed connection with his ancestral Haida roots. Over many years of Dieta healing, Shane has cultivated a deep relationship with the Master Plants and the wisdom they offer.
“My healing with the Shipibo tradition has been guided by a strong calling to honor and heal the pain carried by my ancestors. I experience the spirit of the Master Plants and my lineage working through me, offering insights, protection, and a deep sense of purpose. As a retreat facilitator at Caya Shobo I am learning to share the knowledge I have gained from my own healing, supporting others in their journeys with compassion and reverence for the sacred tradition of Dieta.” Shane

Allison
Allison is an artist and student of Ayurveda, herbalism, and psychology. She was drawn to Ayahuasca in 2008, seeking to find an indigenous approach to the healing arts of the plant world. She explored different Peruvian, Ecuadorian, and Columbian traditions before being introduced to the Shipibo tradition in 2012.
She first began Shipibo Dieta practice in 2015 and has continued to be supported by this practice in cultivating her understanding of herself and the world around her. “My introduction to the Shipibo plant medicine tradition opened up a pathway to deeply experience myself, my dysfunctions and my gifts, guided by the vast intelligence of the plants. My passion to facilitate is informed by the transformation and healing that has occurred in my life through my relationship with the Teacher Plants, and by the continual art of integrating the plant’s teachings into my everyday life.” Allison
