We strongly recommend full flight and travel insurance and medical insurance to cover all contingencies and possible expenses for your trip.
Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions constitute the agreement between you, whether personally or on behalf of another person (“you”, “your”) and Caya Shobo SAC (“Caya Shobo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a Peruvian corporation, regarding your use of our services.
Your reservation, preparation for, and participation in our services is subject to these Terms and Conditions together with our Reservation and Payment Terms and Health and Medical Terms (collectively “Terms and Conditions”).
INTERPRETATION & DEFINITION
In this agreement and in our Reservation and Payment Terms and in our Health and Medical Terms (which form part of this agreement), the following expressions refer to the following meanings:
- Ayahuasca Ceremony: A shamanic gathering involving ingestion of plant preparations typically used for healing, including the psychoactive brew ayahuasca which is made with the plants banisteriopsis caapi and psychotria viridis. ayahuasca and other plants used in ceremony are known to induce visionary effects and other strong psychological, emotional and physical changes including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness and other effects that may cause discomfort, upset, injury or even death.
- Retreat/s: Our retreats are detailed on our website cayashobo.com, and include various therapeutic treatments including Ayahuasca Ceremonies, Dieta and other shamanic healing practices involving the ingestion of plant medicines, discussions, activities, accommodation, meals and other services.
- Dieta: a therapeutic shamanic practice described in detail on our website (cayashobo.com), involving the periodic ingestion of plant preparations, and adherence to certain dietary restrictions and lifestyle changes over varying periods of time, with the aim of supporting you in making changes in your life.
- Representatives: our Retreat facilitators, staff, volunteers, healers, teachers, directors, owners, consultants, affiliate therapists, counsellors, coaches or any other representatives of Caya Shobo.
- Service/s: our Retreats and/or other services we provide such as therapeutic treatments, plant remedies, educational conferences, discussions, coaching sessions or any other program or activity offered by Caya Shobo or facilitated by Representatives.
- Reservation Email: email we send to you when you reserve to participate in our Services.
- Reservation: the booking you made for our Services, as set out in your Reservation Email.
- Commencement Date: the start date for the Service in which you have made your Reservation.
- Health Form – the health questionnaire you must complete when you make a Reservation with us.
- Confirmation Email: the email we send confirming our approval for you to participate in our Services.
- Deposit: a deposit payment of 50% is required to reserve a place at one of our Services.
- The Center: The land and facilities owned by Caya Shobo where our Retreats and some of our Services are conducted, at Lote 12, Comunidad el Varillal, Carretera Iquitos-Nauta 14km, Iquitos, Peru.
When you make a Reservation with us, you accept on your behalf and all those named on your Reservation, to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you don’t agree with (or cannot comply with) these Terms and Conditions, then you understand that you may not make a Reservation or participate in our Services.
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice at any time and for any reason.
Upon making a Reservation, you agree to be bound by our Reservation and Payments Terms, which form part of this Terms and Conditions agreement.

We reserve the right to alter or cancel any Service, related activity, facility, accommodation or any advertised team member or service provider, at any time for any reason determined at our sole discretion.
In the event that we cancel a Service, refund of payments we received for undelivered portions of your Reservation shall constitute full and final settlement and release of all claims against us, and no compensation will be paid for any loss incurred such as your flight change costs.
Upon making a Reservation, you agree to be bound by our Health and Medical Terms, which form part of this Terms and Conditions agreement. Please read them carefully.
Subject to our Health and Medical Terms, you agree to follow any and all health and safety regulations we introduce, including dietary and medication guidelines and abstinence from recreational or other substances.
You acknowledge that you are medically, psychologically and physically fit and able to use our facilities or participate in our Services and any related activities, and you certify that you do not have any condition or disability that would create a hazard for you or other participants or our Representatives.
We are dedicated to ensuring a safe and peaceful environment. During your participation in our Services, you agree to follow our policies which include noise restriction, facility access, care of The Center, privacy and consideration of other guests and our Representatives.
Any offensive, noisy, aggressive, dangerous, illegal, disruptive or improper conduct is not permitted, including:
- consumption of any recreational or other substance without our express consent, including alcohol, e-cigarettes, painkillers, nasal sprays, malaria preventatives or any and all other substances regardless of therapeutic benefit;
- persistent disruptive behavior that discomforts other guests or our Representatives;
- any conduct that creates a safety risk, such as not following directives given by our Representatives, or carrying any item that may be classed as a weapon;
- leaving The Center without the express consent of our Representatives.
We reserve the right at our sole discretion and for any reason to terminate or limit your participation in our Services, in which case you agree to follow our instructions which may include you being required to vacate The Center, or being restricted from participation in some or all of our activities, and you accept that no refund payment or compensation shall be paid for any consequential liability, damages or loss.
You accept sole responsibility for any loss or damage of your personal possessions or valuables.
You agree to assume responsibility for all costs associated with any loss, damage or injury caused by you to property or persons of Caya Shobo, its Representatives or its other customers.
It is likely that you will hear or observe sensitive personal information during our Services which you agree to keep confidential and not share with anyone outside the group.
When you disclose confidential personal information to us, we agree not to communicate or disclose it, or use it for our own purposes without your consent, except where it is necessary for us to disclose information in connection with legal proceedings, or where we reasonably believe you are at risk of danger to yourself or others.
You understand that the use of technology is not always secure and you accept the risks of confidentiality in the use of email, text, phone, Zoom and other technology.
You agree not to make any photo, video or audio recordings of our Services, or discussion groups or activities that form part of our Services without first obtaining our express permission. You agree not to make any photo, video or audio recording of other guests without obtaining their express permission.
If you are not comfortable with having your picture taken or being recorded, you agree to let us know as soon as possible before or during your participation in our Services. Otherwise, you authorize us to use any and all photos, videos or audio content for our social media and marketing purposes.
When you participate in our Services you may have access to resources, information, songs, and other proprietary content (“Content”). You accept that we are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights and any other rights existing in the Content, and that the Content can only be used for your personal use during your participation in our Services, or in connection with the purposes intended by these Terms and Conditions. You agree that no part of the Content should be recorded, copied or made available to a third party without our express consent.
If you have a problem during participation in our Services please inform a Representative immediately, who will endeavor to address your concern. You agree to assume an attitude of good faith and fair dealing when considering possible resolutions to your concern that we may propose, and you agree to make best efforts to do so while you are still at The Center or before your scheduled completion or participation in our Service.
If your complaint cannot be resolved, you must advise us in writing as soon as possible. You agree not to discuss your complaint with any of our other customers.

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you acknowledge that you have voluntarily applied to participate in our Services as a result of your own research and interest. You understand that you may be traveling to a wilderness setting in a foreign country and that you will participate in various activities. You are prepared to assume the risks associated with this travel and you agree that we shall not be liable for any failures beyond our control. This includes natural disasters, war, ‘acts of God’, airport closures, civil strife, accidents, personal injury and similar circumstances, and any failure to perform by third parties, including suppliers and subcontractors of Caya Shobo.
You understand that our Services operate in an unregulated industry and that we are not licensed by any state or nation to provide such services. You understand that for all legal purposes, the Services will be considered to be provided in the Jurisdiction of the country of Peru.
You have thoroughly reviewed the risks associated with participation in our Services, including the use of ayahuasca, and you agree to take full responsibility for your own actions, safety and welfare, including unanticipated events, injury, illness, emotional trauma, moral injury or death. You hereby release and discharge forever Caya Shobo SAC, its agents, employees, directors or other Representatives, from all forms of actions, cause of action, debts, accounts, bonds, contracts, claims and demands for any loss, damage or injury, up to and including death, that may occur in relationship to participation in our Services, regardless of whether such loss, damage, or injury was caused solely or partly by the negligence of Caya Shobo or a Representative.
This agreement shall bind your heirs, executors, personal representatives, successors, assigns, and agents.
JURISDICTION and ENFORCEMENT
These terms and conditions shall be governed by Peruvian Law and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Peruvian courts in all matters regarding them.
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not operate as a waiver of such right or provision. These Terms and Conditions operate to the fullest extent permissible by the law. We may assign any or all of our rights and obligations to others at any time. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remainder of this agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
